In wedding design, some of the most meaningful details are also the most understated. The boutonniere is one of them. Small in scale yet rich in symbolism, it sits close to the heart and quietly communicates belonging, intention, and unity.
At our studio, we approach boutonnieres not as an afterthought but as an integral part of the wedding’s visual and emotional story.
A Distinction for the Groom

We believe the groom’s boutonniere should be distinct. Not louder or more ornate, but thoughtfully unique. It may feature a different bloom, an unexpected texture, or a subtle variation in scale. This distinction honors his role in the day while setting a visual anchor for the rest of the wedding party.
The groom’s boutonniere often becomes the reference point. From it, we build a cohesive language of flowers that carries through the groomsmen and connects seamlessly to the bridal bouquet and bridesmaids’ arrangements.

Complementary, Not Identical
Rather than creating identical boutonnieres for everyone, we design a coordinated set for the groomsmen that complements both the groom and the broader palette of the wedding. Color, texture, and botanical character are carefully balanced so that each piece feels intentional while still belonging to the whole.

This approach avoids the rigidity of matching “team colors” and instead allows for nuance. Soft echoes of the bridesmaids’ tones, greenery that mirrors the ceremony flowers, or seasonal elements drawn from the surrounding landscape all play a role.

A Visual Expression of Unity
For us, this detailed work is about more than aesthetics. Weddings mark the joining of families, histories, and traditions. When the wedding party is visually unified without being uniform, it reflects that deeper truth.

Each boutonniere becomes part of a collective story. Individual in form, harmonious in purpose. Together, they symbolize not just a wedding party standing side by side, but families coming together with intention and care.

Thoughtful Design, Lasting Impression
Boutonnieres may be small, but their impact endures in photographs, in memory, and in the quiet moments throughout the day. When designed with purpose, they become a subtle yet powerful expression of connection.
It is in these details that a wedding moves beyond coordination and into meaning.
